Red Design creates for M/MARITIME at Neorion Syros
Since 2016, Red Design has developed over a long, steady and successful collaboration with
M/MARITIME, the company’s corporate identity and overall applications, the environmental design in its headquarters, the communication in digital and print form, a library of original photo and video material for targeted actions, the company’s values and operational activities, as well as the interior and exterior branding of the vessels.
The dry-docking video of AVRA.GR further strengthens M/MARITIME’s visual communication.
The dry-docking took place in the ONEX shipyard at Syros Neorion and is of great symbolic significance, since this is the first dry-docking of the first vessel built in Japan in 2016 and integrated in the company’s fleet. The maintenance took place in an 160-year old Greek shipyard, thus confirming the actual support of M/MARITIME to the Greek shipping industry and local business community.
Rodanthi Senduka, Head Creative Director of Red Design, states: “The video had many points of interest with regards to both artistic and strategic viewpoint, since it connects a historic shipyard to a dynamic shipping company like M/MARITIME, at a crucial operational point such as the maintenance of its ships. The juxtaposition of the vessels with human scale in combination with the Hermoupolis surrounding (capital of the Cyclades), creates an ambience of awe emanating from the image and substance of the operation”.
Concluding, she adds: “The experience was one of a kind and artistically impressive. It confirms
the forwardness of the Greek shipping family, as it embraces and connects man, sea, Greece and entrepreneurship”.
A few words about the video / One step ahead
The video expresses the vision and values of M/MARITIME regarding total quality assurance and accuracy in the operation and management of its fleet with a view to securing effective dry cargo transportation.
Director Dimosthenis Grivas says: “The intense artistry of the shipyard’s landscape, the vessel itself before the dry docking, combined with the contrast between human and vessel scale, were the elements that caught my attention from the very beginning and made an impression to me. It was clear that those were the elements that had to become the main filming axes”.
The director’s approach focuses on the accuracy and meticulousness of the dry-docking process as well as the well-tuned cooperation of the ONEX people and of M/MARITIME, on land and sea alike. Both the picture and the action invite us to contemplate on the magnitude of such a project and the high standards of quality applied on the process, offering a sequence of impressive shots shifting from the minute detail to the big picture, pointing out the disparity of scale between man and ship and the exceptional outcome that can be attained by a high-caliber dry docking in Greece. The music score and sound design are elements that enhance the narration.
